Karen A. Guzmán-García
Karen A. Guzmán-García, is Electrical Engineer and Master of Nuclear Sciences by the Universidad Autonoma of Zacatecas during 2001-2011, Nowadays is PhD Student of the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid, ETSI Industrials, in Doctorate in nuclear science and technology, in the last year, with scheduled completion date in 2017, February. Marzo 1983-Septiembre 2016 Currently in her doctoral studies is working on a research project with the name "Theoretical and experimental characterization of new systems of neutron detection for control of goods at borders and critical points". Is part of a research group in collaboration of co-director to a doctoral thesis research, with the project "Detection Systems by NAA, Neutron activation analysis, of explosives, drugs and Special Nuclear Material, SNM, in customs areas, and detection of anti-personnel mines with mobile devices, with neutron generators of Deuterium-Deuterium, DD”.
Is specialist in dosimetry and radiation protection, and in the use of Monte Carlo methods, MCNP code for calculate the radiation transport. She has worked in the direction of thesis of Engineering and Master, currently working in the direction of a master thesis and a PhD project.
He has published three international papers, and four national articles, a book about her project master, he has made 27 articles in conference reports, two papers for science magazines for youth eek’s. Until today she has participated in 16 conferences, 10 national (Mexico), and 6 international (Peru, Argentina, South Africa, Paris, Spain).
She was in a reaseach stay in the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid while was a Master Student in Mexico, then before begin the PhD was in a research stay in the Centro de Investigaciones Energeticas, Medioambientales y tecnologicas, CIEMAT in Madrid Spain, in the Laboratorio de Patrones Neutronicos. She is a member of the Network of Mexican Talent in the exterior, “Red Global MX, Chapter Spain”.
